The extending leg is on an easy glide caster which makes it easy for pulling out the leg out on setup. The leg comes with a locking mechanism that locks the desk top into position. The bookcase is on both sides of the desk with one adjustable shelf which gives you great storage for all of your office needs. Clean with dry non abrasive cloth. Assembly required.
